Aardvark has also carried out a thorough appraisal of the methods of clearing unexploded weapons and war debris from land battle areas, military firing and bombing ranges. This also includes a computer aided mines and munitions identification system of the weapons likely to be found, and includes pictures, drawings, and disposal techniques to ensure their safe removal. Items likely to be found in an area can be quickly printed out to produce a detailed reference manual.
With its detailed knowledge of land, air and sea weapons, and the countermeasures to locate and dispose of them, Aardvark is able to offer a full consultancy service, together with advice, practical help and training, on all aspects of surveying minefields, clearing minefields and unexploded ordnance, together with recommending the number of personnel, and the most cost effective equipment needed for each particular task.
The Project Director of Aardvark is an ex-British military Minewarfare and Bomb Disposal Officer with 22 years experience of practical military explosives including the search, location and removal of unexploded weapons. In addition he has had 23 years worldwide experience in commercial explosives and clearance.
Aardvark personnel are also ex-military minewarfare, explosives and bomb disposal experts chosen for their individual skills, their high standards of safety and training, and their ability to apply their technical expertise. Besides war zone and minefield clearance, they have also been responsible for the administration, training and safety of local civilian and military personnel to enable them to conduct their own clearance operations.
Aardvark is actively involved in the detection, clearance and removal of mines and unexploded weapons on land from battle areas and military firing ranges.
Between June 1990 and March 1992 Aardvark personnel worked for the United Nations training local personnel in surveying and mapping of minefields, and in the operation and maintenance of Aardvark landmine clearance machines.
From June 1991 to October 1992 Aardvark provided personnel for Royal Ordnance in Kuwait to carry out large scale minefield and battle area clearance in the desert and on the beaches, using a combination of mechanical and manual methods.
